 The island of North Haven, Maine was onces a community that survived completely off the land. Older generation community members tell us stories of living on the island when work meant either farming the land or fishing of all sorts. Our project researches the history of the once vital industry of clamming, giving many North Haven residents a chance to make ends meet in the colder months.
