NORTH HAVEN: THEN AND NOW
North Haven: Then and Now was designed by the North Haven Community School CREST team.
The object of this project is to inform individuals about North Haven's
former glory, and how North Haven has changed over time. Each page of
the website features one image from the 20th century and one image,
taken from the same angle of view today (2008/09). Pictures were
taken from various locations throughout the island.
We would like to thank the North Haven Historical Society for so generously allowing us to use their resources. All of our historic photos were selected from their collection. We also would like to express our thanks to Betsy Walker (Island Institute/Historical Society fellow) for her assistance throughout this project.
“The CREST project brings together students, schools and communities.”
Community for Rural Education Stewardship and Technology (CREST) was designed to create excitement among teachers and students about technology-related careers. The summer program teaches three groups of technology: Ethnography, GIS, and Web Design. The knowledge learned in these three groups are transfered back into classrooms.
